  1. Any committed crime is a risk. There's many ways to go about harassing the owner/employees and causing damage to the property with limiting the risk of getting caught. You just have to incorporate your own intelligence and ideas into it, that's what the game is about. As you've said, resorting to murder is just... unnecessary. It's a life sentence.
  2. Racketeering is a broad term and falls under the organized crime category. It comes in the form of murder, robbery, bribery, drug trafficking, arms trafficking, money laundering, etc. I assume what you're referring to extortion, nonetheless. I certainly do -not- believe a CK clause is plausible if the business owner refused extortion. There should be escalation involved. If the business owner had refused to pay the fee, the extorter should gradually harass the business and give the business owner a reason to pay the fee. This could involve damage to the property (pummeling the windows in, breaking the doors, breaking furniture, etc.) or even harassing the employees. There are other ways you could actively press the owner to pay the fee, such as blackmail. Escalation is key, I don't think a refusal of extortion is a sufficient reason to go kill the owner. If that was the case, I'll go out my way and extort every business owner in the city and put a bullet in every single one of them if they refused to pay the fee. You can see how the roleplay is poorly carried out there.
  3. You missed my point again. It encourages people to actively roleplay instead. I never insinuated there won't be any one grinding at ALL. There will be a portion of the community grinding whether there's a starting payment system or not, yes. There always will be. But the point is, it encourages less of it to happen. People won't have to grind out jobs to be able to afford clothes, a basic car and a place to stay. It doesn't make sense for the whole community to start without a basic car, a place to stay, and having to grind out scripted jobs to be able to acquire one. Realistically, they would have stayed in Liberty City for year(s), depending on the character. I hope you can grasp that.
  4. You miss my primary point. It's going to be hectic on the launch date - a starting payment system would encourage people to lay back and roleplay instead of actively trucking and grinding other jobs on the first day of launch. It can give off a bad first impression and urge people to leave. Without a starting payment, people are gonna want to grind out jobs to afford basic requirements. Whether it be clothes, basic vehicles, housing, etc.
  5. Starting payments are absolutely necessary to avoid a disastrous launch. You don't want every player out there going out their way trucking, fishing and grinding out jobs for cash when the server kicks off. You could easily tackle this issue and allow people to focus on roleplaying instead through starting payments. It wouldn't align with most character backgrounds either; why would a settled Liberty City citizen go out their way grinding trucking jobs off the bat with the majority of the population if they have a background in law?
  6. Our aim is to portray a modern charter of the Pagan's Motorcycle Club, a large-scale outlaw motorcycle club with deep roots established in the East Coast, as realistic as we can. The Pagans are among the big five OMGs and are engaged in a series of criminal activities such as the smuggling and production of methamphetamine, the smuggling of cocaine, heroin, PCP and weapons trafficking. Motorcycle and car theft is also common among these bikers. They go through violent means for personal and club cain, that includes assault, arson, and even murder. That being said, conflicts with other motorcycle clubs are typically settled privately on certain terms as active beef merely draw in federal attention. We look to engage in these activities as realistically as possible, including club activities such as bike runs and other private events/parties. They are held together by their core brotherhood, bylaws and deep organization. They are described as "mafia on wheels" due to their extensive organization. The Pagans draw in smaller clubs to bolster their recruitment due to their notorious rivalry with the Hells Angels. They are clad in blue denim cuts as a means of upholding tradition. Partying hard and drug abuse is a part of the lifestyle. Recruitment strictly takes place in-character, any questions can be sent to the thread holder's account.
