  1. Any possible way to code in how cash is carried? Code it in as a physical item in one's inventory in a wallet or purse, etc. This would work best in a dynamic inventory system where you can click and drag items (including what money you have on you). Something like this: Click Here Make it so you can only have so much on your person before it has to be carried in a dufflebag or backpack or something similar. They would have to buy the dufflebags or backpacks to transport cash in, which would be visible to anyone. If they are then stupid enough to carry that kind of cash on them, they deserve to get robbed lol. That way it remains an entirely IC decision for people to carry that amount of cash and you don't really need to enforce things in an OOC manner.
  2. This topic has always been a point of contention across various servers I've played on. I'd like to open the discussion to give LCRP management an idea of where we stand on this issue. Basically it comes down to how the inventory system is built as well, but the gist of the idea is that whatever a player carries on their person (in their personal inventory) is free game. I think this would help reduce the RPG'ish element of people who carry around a shit ton of cash in their wallet without any worries. If someone initiates a robbery and the person is carrying $10,000, that amount shouldn't be off limits so long as the robbery is role played properly and realistically. I don't personally support the idea of limiting what can and can't be robbed. If you've got it on you, it should be open to get stolen. Thoughts?
  3. It’s not the job that’s the issue, it’s the quality management. Report them. The issue with the other server is that they don’t get in trouble. It’s still a viable job. Can’t fix the issue when no one gets reported and/or management doesn’t take the necessary steps to regulate the RP quality. Ignoring the problem just makes a bigger problem, which is what happened. It can be done differently here.
  4. Job Title: PostOp Courier Job Description: Starting from the main hub, deliver packages to a set of predetermined destinations across the map. Why would it benefit the server? I understand this is kind of a grind job but so are jobs like garbageman, fisher, truck driver, etc. I think you could eventually build this into something much more complex such as personal mail/package delivery (person to person) businesses, with further scripting obviously. For the start of the server though, I feel this would suffice. It's a simple job. Just balance the pay rate so its not overdone to where we have 100 PostOp delivery drivers going around the map. Balance the income with other script jobs and basically leave it up to preference.
  5. Job Title: Alcohol Supplier / Brewery / Distillery (Illegal and Legal) Job Description: This is in essence two separate scripts, because the illegal and legal brewing should work differently. The ability to function as a legal, licensed brewer or illegal brewer/distillery (at the risk of being caught) to supply businesses / stores in the surrounding area. I'm aware that this might be more niche role play, but microbreweries and such exist. They make craft beers and other spirits outside of the "mainstream" brands you'd find in a liquor store. There should be additional script support for a legal, licensed brewer to be able to custom name their products so that when given in inventory, they can be listed as a brand name like "LC Brewing Co. - Pale Ale" and so on. Legal brewers would have to apply for the proper business licenses to be approved for the legal brewery script privileges to custom name their products. This would also require inspection of a property to ensure they have brewing equipment, proper safety equipment, etc. (All IC inspections and licenses given by the government and fire departments). Illegal brewers wouldn't have this luxury and would have to sell at the base item name such as "Beer" or "Liquor" without a custom brand name. This would be a regular script that you can just pick up by typing something like /brewer at a specific location. I think to add to the risk of being caught, without a script provided license, the script should produce an item name like "Beer (Illegal)" or "Liquor (Illegal)" to add some fun RP opportunities for things like business inspections and such for the government. That way there's some risk for the business to purchase these products from illegal suppliers. Customers wouldn't be able to act on this IC'ly, this is strictly for risk purposes for the brewer, the business and then for role play opportunities for the government workers. Why it would benefit the server to have this job? It could be a cheaper alternative for businesses that A) Want to buy cheaper than in a liquor store at market price and B) Simply want to promote some role play for someone (the brewer). It's more realistic for someone to buy from a supplier or brewery rather than just trekking up to the liquor store to script buy everything at market price. Microbreweries and distilleries are definitely becoming more frequent in the US and it would be cool to see some people try to take on the role of becoming a well-known/recognized brand in the city for bars, liquor stores, or take the risk of being an illegal brewer and caught by police while distributing and such.
  6. Title says it all. I was going to make a suggestion thread, but I figured it best to start here first and get community input. What kind of script-supported jobs would you like to see? In past renditions of RP servers you see things like car mechanic, fishing, mining, taxi drivers, etc. I'd love to see some expanded suggestions/details. I will then compile them into a big list and form it into a cohesive suggestion thread afterwards. So if you want to contribute I would please ask to at least make it somewhat cohesive in terms of format so that it can be referenced in the suggestion thread later on. Keep it to this, at least. Thanks everyone. Job Title: Job Description: Why it would benefit the server to have this job?
  7. Amazing. Can't wait to see the progress! Appearance can be changed
  8. Love me some great La Cosa Nostra RP. Will have to get in on this one.
  9. Title is self-explanatory. What do you guys want to RP first? I might be a cop simply because I was a cop in real life for 10 years, but I haven't decided yet. Might want to do something different
  10. I would love to see some great role play from solid legal factions. Not just SD/PD/DOC/DOJ but groups devoted to business role play, mechanic/car scene RP, etc. Don't get me wrong, I love some good illegal faction content. It makes for some great reading and interesting RP opportunities. However it usually seems to overshadow legal factions. It would be nice to see some groups step up and provide quality content on the legal faction side as a whole.
