  1. As I'm not sure on the development, I'll give my opinion instead.

I see the implementation as double-edged swords. For one, they allow you start roleplay where you would like to, not where you were realistically. Everyone on world does it, if they log off after going to a bar, chances are they'll spawn in at their home. I don't see anything wrong with this...

What I do see wrong however, is the abuse. Not only for the IC issues that you mentioned (The lack of transportation since everyone can just spawn where they want to be), but the OOC aspect of it too, such as evading to a safehouse to avoid getting caught. It breaks immersion and allows players to easily break the rules with a click of the button.

Your suggestion, although good, would sound nice if all cars would spawn at your house, or you can use the /vg command to spawn it on your location. As far as I am concerned, vehicles spawn when they're last left, and only if there's been a restart. Meaning, if you spawn at your house and your vehicle is elsewhere, you'll either have to walk to get it, or submit a /report to get an admin to spawn it for you, which creates a bulk of reports that the Online Staff Team have to sift through, regardless if it takes seconds or not.

I think having the option to spawn at your House or Last location would be best, and not allow players to spawn in at their businesses. So, there still must be some sort of commute if you're wanting to roleplay anything other than staying in your home.

Have any idea on when players are capable of applying for businesses?

We will open them up via the UCP one a release date has been confirmed and we are able to successfully integrate it within IG Scripts!

Will this apply to every business on the map? Or, are certain spots capable of being leased or owned through alternative means, if say, it is not yet scripted into the server?

Absolutely not. Leases will only make up a percentage of all Business and Residential Properties. You are more than welcome to put a down payment on a Business, and pay a mortgage through the Bank Of Liberty. If you do it that way, it is considered your property wholly.

We are also having Business Applications for players wanting to apply for a Business that is not scripted, you apply, and we take care of the scripting for you. It is then your responsibility to map it (since it's a brand new scripted business), but you won't have to rely on choosing a business that's closest to where your faction is going to be, since you can apply for any business so long as another player isn't operating inside of it already.

Will it be easy to request certain buildings be used for apartment buildings/houses in unofficial faction territories if they aren't initially available on day one?

Although we try to incorporate everything, this is something we are prepared for. For Businesses, you would just go through the application to reach out to us. I'll discuss with PTM on adding more of a 'inquiry' type setting instead of flooding my team with DM's, they'll get burned out! People force the narrative upon themselves that PT will be so busy that you won't be able to ask for anything (you know what server I'm talking about), but with our team, we have much less of a workflow, so we should be able to accommodate you so long as you have the reasoning behind it.

What is going to be in place to stop people from grabbing multiple?

The script will handle this. You will not be allowed to purchase a Lease if you already have one going. We're aiming to set up Leases as a part of the Property Categories (eg: Businesses Types, Residential, et cetera). So, this'll combat people from taking more than they're allowed.

    2 hours ago, Jorgensen said:

Whats to stop the business not suiting the character? Or not running it properly?

I brought this up when I had qualms with the system. Since we are aiming for less admin oversight, it is something we've tried for, but have to accept as part of LCRP's vision for a unified Roleplaying Server. Of course, we'll be able to catch the really poor roleplayers, but we rely on our playerbase to both be realistic and report business owners who are not running / operating / portraying their character and business realistically.

    2 hours ago, Jorgensen said:

But, will it be same system of you sell it back to the server rather being able to hoard businesses and sell them on for profit?

How this works is neat. LCCP rents these out, so when you don't want to operate the business anymore, you relinquish the lease back to LCCP. There is no selling, there is no opportunity to turn a profit from a Leased Business, it just goes back and you continue on without.

Really like what LCCP is and can see you’ve put a lot of effort and thought into it.

    Great changes overal.

You're too kind! And yes, hopefully the first change will incentivize players to choose what's best for the collective, and not themselves.

    Property Team Announcement #4 - JULY 2022

Hello everyone. There has been quite a few internal and external updates since our last Property Announcement. I'm hoping that after you read this, you'll not only be more hyped for server launch, but have a better understanding of how much our property system differentiates from other servers. Happy reading!

Change 1: Releasing Nightclub Operation Hours

Seeing the recent discussion and poll in regard to what time-zone the server should be set it, players have expressed concern with what they're able to roleplay during their free time hours, especially at night. Originally, the Property Team only allowed nightclubs to operate within realistic nighttime hours (9PM-2AM). After seeing the sway in votes when it comes to player convenience instead of what'll work best for all players, we have decided to lift the operational regulations. This means that nightclubs can open whenever. After 10+ years of roleplay, I have an understanding of the business psychology that our business owners will undergo. Most of the time, the incentive to open a business is directly corelated with the player count of the server at that time. Naturally, nightclubs will be open at peak hours regardless, night or day. We hope that this will guide players into choosing a time-zone option that will fit with everyone, as well as provide everyone the equal opportunity to experience all types of roleplay. If a player has an issue when a business opens, they can proceed with their concern on an IC level with the business owner.

Change 2: Removal of Leased Business and House Applications

Prior to this change, players would need to apply for leased businesses and houses on the UCP, in which a Property Team Member would review, evaluate, and decide whether or not the property is awarded to you. After discussions with Server Management, the decision was made to have Leased Businesses and Houses nested within a In-Game script, meaning if you want said business, you would need to travel to it and lease / purchase / mortgage it at the point of entry. This 'first-come-first-serve' system allows the Property Team to focus on answering our other applications (interior change, unscripted business application, unique scripts, inactivity, etc) in a timely fashion. We are hoping to integrate a online map based service that allows you to see what is available and what's not. I personally plan for adding more leases to equate what's already on the map, so it won't be empty nor filled with businesses for your selection, there'll hopefully be a few businesses that target every industry.

    Understanding LCCP and it's Goals

LCCP is a tricky concept, a player had brought up concerns that LCCP is a 'monopolized business that owns all housing and businesses'. After seeing this, I wanted to integrate what LCCP is, and what it serves to benefit you as the player.

LCCP is an IC Company ran by the Property Team. LCCP uses its own funding (aka 'capital') to purchase those expensive businesses and apartments, and rents them out to players in the form of a Lease (this word looks familiar!). If you have yet to understand already, LCCP is the owner of LEASED properties, be it residential or commercial. What are the benefits of acquiring a lease through LCCP?

    - You get to operate a business and make money at a fraction of the cost, LCCP does not collect your profits.

    - You are not liable for Maintenance Costs or Repair Bills.

    - LCCP pays the Property Tax AND Utilities Tax, not the player.

    - You pay monthly to LCCP instead of mortgaging to a bank (no interest rates as monthly prices remain stagnant).

LCCP is not a monopolization of any market, there will be an abundance of businesses and apartments that you can buy yourself and mortgage through the Bank of Liberty. LCCP just acts as the IC "landlord" for leases. This company is ran by myself, the Team Leader of the Property Team. Its only staff contains only Property Team Members.

So, what's LCCP's goal? To give you the chance to own a business or apartment at a fraction of the cost, without the financial liability.

    Pre-Release Businesses

As it stands, we currently have 9 accepted business that are ready to go for launch. We are still waiting for your submissions! Please submit your application to THIS FORM (leases attached) by July 30th, 2022. You will receive funding (TBD on details), so it is financially viable for you to acquire a lease prior to launch, while Property Team isn't swamped with work!

    Concluding Remarks

Although a lot of work is done behind closed doors, we are still working hard to deliver a system that'll fit within LCRP's goal: 'Less Admin Oversight'. These changes have been heavily discussed and argued, but we're happy to take this step in the right direction! The Property Team will continue to work hard to delver a working and realistic system, and we'll improve upon said system once the server is released. That is our promise to you.

     Until next time!

  7. As a player in other roleplaying servers, I have seen the good and bad in a lot of administrators. Here's a couple of them.

    • Some Administrators flaunt this persona and demeanor that whatever you ask of them is a huge favor on their end, even if it's just a question. Some players cherry-pick admins to chat with since they know they'll get an answer, while the others keep quiet and just work in the shadows. I think having an admin who isn't 'present' is unfair to the playerbase. Some of my favorite admins were right there in general cracking jokes with everyone else, and that's something that I pride myself on.
    • Administrators who frequently roleplay and not help the community via reports frustrated me. Although a work-rp balance is crucial when it comes to any staff position within a community, the complete absence of assistance when players need it most is a bad quality to show in an admin.
    • Administrators who favor certain collectives over reports (IG and Forum) are some of the worst admins. If an admin is a LCPD Detective, and they're dealing with a PD Forum Report, you're bound to have bias. I've seen this first hand, I think maintaining the "level playing field" when it comes to reports are good qualities. Part of the blame goes to the other server's management, for not catching this early on.
    • I never understood why Admins can't treat our playerbase with the same level of respect that we often receive. I'm not sure if it's because of my Canadian softness or not, but I always welcome DM's or inquires, whereas other admins feel like they are 'owed' because they change your property name or w/e. We are just people, with green names. There's no excuse or justification for treating the playerbase or other "lower" staff departments as any less important.

There is a misconception with my irl friends who know I am an admin in a GTA5 RP server, they believe I'm just here to punish the troublemakers, which isn't true at all. I joined the Staff Team so I can help contribute to other people's enjoyment, because I know all too well how much of a positive, impactful experience roleplaying has been in my life, and I want that for the player-base too.

  8. I don't really see how this discussion will serve to actually provide meaningful insights on what's best for the server. People will just be subjective to pick the time zone that most fits within their availability and peak hours. Conducting another poll will just show you which time zone all of our players reside in (roughly). I think we should do another poll, but consider the results from our first one. 95+ People wanted it to be in NYC Timezone, and 50 didn't. Do another poll and we'll see how we fare.

Of course we are all selfish in the regard that we want to be able to play during peak hours, who doesn't? But if our weather is matching to NYC's weather, then we should conform to NYC time as well.

  9. As my eyes skim over 300 lines of Python code I know I'll never use again, my script is littered with errors. I'm tired, both physically and mentally.

Just when I feel like giving up, I know I have my 'Ace in the Hole'. It's this song. I play it, on a loop, for over two hours.

Traceback and Syntax errors begin to disappear, my code is looking clean.

I lean back in my chair after 5 hours of non-stop scripting, take the largest hit off my dab pen known to man, this song still plays.

My mind no longer belongs to my project, nor my own body. It belongs to the kings of vaporwave. I transcend into the abyss.

The abyss is not light nor dark. It is however, comforting to the soul.

Nice ideas, I plan on having a Sale Script where people can choose their components they want delivered and 'craft' it based upon what services / items they're wanting to sell.

  11. I'll give up update on me just for S & G.

    • I told Classmate 1 that I am an Admin and Team Leader of the Property Team, he knows what GTA RP is. He refers to what I do as "GTA real estate" now.
    • Classmate 2, 3, and 4 are super into it, they think it's really neat and see me working on Property related stuff in class.
    • Close friend group has accepted that I roleplay and don't really bother me that much about it, only when I'd prefer to do Property work instead of play Warzone.
    • Parents are heavily against it, I reply with "stay mad", but they think it's neat that I manage a team and deal with a server with over 1000 players.
    • Explained it to a girl I'm talking to and she didn't understand, after several attempts, she seems pretty indifferent.

    All in all good wins.

  12. NOTE: Properties will be controlled by the Server for and after launch. This discussion is if P2PS should be available down the road, long after release.

As it stands, properties are bought from the server only. When you sell a Property, you get 100% of your money back. Player to Player selling is not allowed and the prices for everything are fixed. Some people like this, others do not.

By having a Player Ran Market, the collective controls the market based off the price they set for their properties. Extremely high priced properties that no one will buy will create a difficult market, prices that are too low will have others suck up all available properties until they decide to 'turn a profit'. That is what I don't like about a Player Ran Market, the players want to flip properties for a cash profit but point a finger at the server for having no availability, or unrealistic prices, when the server is trying to conform to the average prices that a player sets out.

As you know, we listen to what the community has to say. So, we're hoping for a large amount of discussion here to hopefully reach a system that benefits everyone.

  13. Hello, I think it’d be wise to have Administrators be able to Delete / Hide posts for every user, maybe have a ghost account with Admin Permissions instead of assigning it on an account basis.

Moreover, ensuring that an age requirement is set (since LC-RP is 17/18+ only for characters, Social Media should too)

Finally, I really loved the idea of Business Pages / Groups on Facebrowser, I’d love to see it here.

    Property Team Announcement #3 - MAY 2022

Hello everyone! After talking about Property on the Beer and Liberty Podcast, we wanted to give you all another announcement on things that I said I'd report back on, as well as some additional explanations based on some of my responses.

    Average Property Cost by Neighborhood

We have spent some time and forecasted the pricing of neighborhoods in Liberty City. While we are still working alongside the economy Team to determine the value of a dollar in LCRP, as well as other semantics that come into play when pricing properties, we are unable to release exact dollar values of Businesses, Apartments, and Houses at this time. Similar to LC-RP's release date, Property Team Management is wanting to be transparent with our community, but honest as well. Once our economy system is developed, we will release the prices of residential and commercial properties.

    Spoiler

    tR9CDyH.png

    Lease to Buy

Someone asked "If somebody leases someplace,  and is running it successfully, would you let them purchase the property?". Property Management had a meeting about this and it was decided that leases will remain as leases. While we heavily encourage Business Roleplay, and have provided players with Leasing, financing, or outright buying a property to start / maintain a business, we are wanting to maintain the payment standards, as we believe it's easier for our Developers to handle.

An issue we brought up with this decision goes along the lines of "In that case, they'll just be the same 100 Leases circulating, once someone terminates their lease, someone can just come and pick up where they left off". We all know which Businesses are Leased in other Roleplaying Servers, and to be honest, I don't really want that here. To avoid that, we'll circulate our properties on our Leasing page on a monthly basis, so you won't be subjected to the same businesses until someone else pick them up first.

    Player Owned Dealerships

We've seen the rise and fall of Vehicle Dealerships on neighboring Roleplaying servers, and when the idea of having both used and new dealerships crossed my desk, I was unsure what to do with it. We've seen Dealerships ran in Parking Lots, Parking Garages, and in alleyways. Put curtly, it's weird, unrealistic, and unnecessary.

Used Vehicle Dealerships will be scripted after launch. We are rejecting the idea of New Vehicle Dealerships and letting the Server take care of new vehicle says. Moreover, we will be placing used vehicle dealerships behind a 'Buy a Business' application, set as a special request application. The few dealerships that are permitted will be strategically placed and operated by trustworthy people so we don't create eye-sores, and more importantly, poor Roleplay. This is something that we'll revisit a few months down the road, as we want Developers to focus on more important aspects that benefit the server directly.

Absence of Player to Player Selling

As you may or may not know, we are not permitting players to sell their Leased or Purchased Properties to other players. There is no command IG or forum section that allows the auctioning of property assets to other characters. Let me explain why not permitting player to player selling could be very beneficial to LC-RP.

One could argue that the Property Market is controlled by the Property Team, but it really is overseen by myself and Pags. Neo and K Money are in charge of the Property Team Staff, I'm in charge of all property related things on LC-RP. I will ensure that we will always have enough properties, businesses, and vehicles available to the Server. By abolishing Player to Player selling, property inflation becomes irrelevant because there really is no competition. We can keep track of what's coming in and out, and adjust the prices so that all properties are readily available, and most importantly, affordable. We were tired of overpriced properties on other RP servers and you'd be lying if you said you weren't annoyed by it too. The property you buy once the server launches, will be the same price in six months, unless there's monetary inflation due to the economy. There is no Supply / Demand when it comes to Properties, because we'll always have a property for you, so long as you can afford it. Does this mean that Real Estate Companies that make absurd amounts of money in a short period will not exist? Yes. Does this also mean that you no longer have to pray on availability in order to obtain a business or apartment? Yes.

    Nightclubs

As We've mentioned before, we have nightclubs that will be given to players prior to launch, there will only be two nightclubs until the Property Team is comfortable incorporating a third, fourth, fifth, and so on. The reason for this? Nightclubs are becoming unrealistically ran from what we've seen in other Roleplaying Servers. We have seen nightclubs open at 4PM on a Tuesday afternoon in other servers, why? Because there's so many Bars, nightclubs, strip clubs, and other entertainment venues open that business owners want to facilitate roleplay to make money because they know that nightclubs are an appealing business to a large amount of players. By having two nightclubs, you can find consolation in the fact that when you arrive at one at night in Liberty City, it will surely be packed, as most nightclubs usually are! You might ask 'what if the owner is on Vacation and can't open it?', you have the other! We are creating a special application for this and are wanting to assist the awarded players with marketing attention so they can begin to build a Team before the server even launches. Property Team Members will help find staffing, set up scripts, and ensure that you have what you need to hit the ground running. So if the owner goes on vacation, you'll have six other people who could script an opening!

The nightclubs that we're going to be putting up for Lease in the near future is the Bahama Mama's Nightclub in Star Junction and Club Liberty in Northwood. We will follow up with the server once we are ready to push out a specialized application!

    Boundless Mapping and Furniture Costs

When I first joined LC-RP as a Staff Member in 2021, the main idea was to not have players map their own apartments. Rather, they would have to select a shell out a few server provided one, then go to the furniture store, buy their furniture and wait for it to arrive at their apartment before being able to move / place. I thought this idea screamed hyper-realism, and although we are wanting to promote as much realism as we can on LC-RP, we also want players to have the convenience to do simple tasks. After lengthy discussions with Server Management and Crunchy, a Lead admin here on LC-RP, we agreed to integrate Custom Mapping into LC-RP.

Once you purchase a property that has an interior already, you can submit an Interior Change request on the UCP. From there, you will be able to select No Interior and map your property yourself. You will start in a dimension that is not dimension 0 (where everyone else is), and you will be able to place walls, floors, trims, and other mapping items. Our talented modding and mapping team have discovered a way to eliminate 'occlusions', so you are now able to map directly within your building as opposed to overtop of it in the sky! Moreover, we have set all furniture items that do not hold significant monetary value to only $10, a very affordable price to map your apartment in a timely manner. We do not force our player base to pay for additional furniture slots, every player can place up to a maximum of 2300, anything above that will begin to bug out the dimension. We are also promoting players to map for other players, and the rules to that will follow soon.

    Property Rules

Less administrative oversight on LC-RP is what makes this server so unique. Having said that, we still need to ensure rules are in place to maintain the flow of properties, as well as maintain realistic portrayal. The attached Property Rules have been in Development since August of 2021, but we are excited to release version 1.0 of our Property Rules! Note, these rules are subject to change, and will most likely change as our Property System develops and we discover things that we might have missed. However, please give these a gander!

    Spoiler

    LIBERTY CITY ROLEPLAY

    Property System & Rules

    1. BUYING AND SELLING

Designated properties (mostly apartments) will be buyable and sellable to and from the server. Selling to players will not be allowed.

When selling a property to market, the player shall receive the market value + furniture value of the property at that time (if there is any furniture within the property).

Important: If someone sells a property, the property will be again available to be purchased, but will have a random timer between 24 - 48 hours to reduce the chances of it being camped out and prevent player to player sales.

When buying a property from market, the player shall have the option to purchase the property for market value OR market + furniture value (if custom interior exists). If there is an existing custom interior and the player chooses not to buy the furniture, the custom interior should be automatically deleted upon purchase. Players who own a property already cannot use /buyproperty command (limit properties to 1 per character).

    • Players are able to hold 1 commercial property and 1 residential property.
    • Players can lease 1 commercial property at a time, in addition to their owned properties.

    • Limit increases for owning and/or leasing must be requested.

    • Faction properties are separate, and the limit will be determined by the Property and Faction Support Teams.

    • Selling all the custom furniture before selling a property is a bannable offense. You will get back what you spent in furniture, so there is no need to delete the interior.

    • Selling a property can be done 3 days after purchase.

    2. MAPPING

    • Players who are “hired” to custom-map an interior can charge a maximum of furniture value x 2.
    • Mapping must be kept realistic to the dimensions of the property and decorated according to the area it’s located in. (Example: A three bedroom penthouse with marble flooring wouldn’t be found in the projects.)

    • The Property Team reserves the right to determine if a property is mapped unrealistically. This can result in warnings, final warnings and removal of custom interiors with or without refunds.

    • Exteriors can not be mapped inside the property dimension. (Balcony, patio, etc.). If the property has an accessible exterior portion, a teleport can be requested through the UCP.

    • Mapping scams are not allowed and are subject to Administrative action. (Example: Showing a fake portfolio to get hired, doing a terrible job on purpose and demanding full payment. Or, taking a deposit and never showing back up to do the job.)

    3. MORTGAGES

Mortgage payments are automatically removed out of the character's bank account every seven (7) days. If the character is unable to make a mortgage payment after two weeks, the property is automatically sold and the character will not get back any of the value of the property. The property owner will have full rights over his property (as in being able to sell it and actually receive money for selling it), only after the mortgage is paid off in full.

    4. RENTING

Property owners can put their apartment / house for rent and are limited to 3 tenants at one time. If the owner is wanting to set up automatic payments, the first two weeks of rent will be automatically collected (up front). If the owner is wanting to set up manual payments, it is the owners responsibility to set up a payment system with their tenant(s).

    • You may not have more than 1 of your characters renting the same property.

    • Renting a property with the sole intention to check and/or steal the inventory is a bannable offense.

    • Renting a property with the sole intention of selling furniture for profit is a bannable offense.

    • Real estate agencies are not allowed. If you would like to roleplay renting out a room in your property, it must be done realistically and rent must be within reason.

Some properties will be rentable only and owned by the server. These lower-end apartments, hotels, and motels will allow one (1) tenant at a time. Players will not be able to give out keys, sell or furnish the property from scratch (eg: Setting interiors). They will be able to utilize the property inventory.

    5. BREAK-INS

Break-ins must be requested and will be spectated by an admin. Robbing a property without an approved request is a bannable offense.

    • Robbing an open business requires admin approval. If you are robbing an open business, you are technically robbing the players inside the business. If you’re robbing a closed business, you’re robbing the business itself.
    • Staff reserves the right to:
      • ask about prior roleplay done surrounding the reason for the break-in, as well as the right to deny a break-in request.
      • determine where/what items are found if there is no set stash info.
      • end the break-in if they deem roleplay to be exceptionally poor.
      • make “Concerned Citizen” calls.
    • Concerned Citizen calls are used in situations where there is not a property alarm or any witnesses in the form of real players. If robberies are taking exceptionally long, or if there would be excessive noise from the robbers’ roleplay, an admin may opt to make a Concerned Citizen 911 call to alert law enforcement of possible criminal activity.
      • “Exceptionally long”: petty criminals seeking to rob properties for quick profit are typically in and out as fast as possible. Players taking excess of 15 minutes to detail searching every nook and cranny of a property may be subject to a Concerned Citizen call.
      • “Excessive noise”: roleplaying throwing items around, smashing objects and/or shouting or talking constantly without use of /low or /whisper can be considered excessive noise. In reality, neighbors or passers by would most likely take notice of excessive and unusual noise. Several lines of “noisy” roleplay are grounds for a Concerned Citizen call.

    6. Inactivity

We understand that our players have lives outside of LC-RP. However, in order to keep a flow of properties (this includes dwellings and businesses) The following rules are established.

Residential Properties: If a player goes 14 consecutive days without playing for at least 4 hours, their property will be sold and the player will receive a full refund. Upon the forfeiture, the player will receive a OOC Forum Message and Discord Message. Over the course of 48 hours after forfeiture, the player will be able to buy back their property at no extra cost. If the player does not buy back their property after 48 hours, the property is instantly relinquished to the server and the player is unable to buy it back again.

Businesses: If a Business has not opened in seven (7) days, Property Management will receive a notification. After 14 days of inactivity, Property Management is notified again and a manual investigation is conducted upon the Business. If your Business is shut down, the Business owner will receive the market value of the property.

In the event that you know you will be absent from LCRP for more than 14 days, you can create a ticket on the UCP, and you won't be penalized.

    7. Faction Properties

Factions are able to apply for additional properties based on their designated Tier. The following Property breakdown is not including the one residential and one commercial property your character can have already.

    • New faction - Unable to apply for additional Commercial Properties
    • Standard faction - Limited to 2 Commercial.
    • Tier 1 faction - Limited to 3 Commercial.
    • Tier 2 faction - Limited to 5 Commercial.
    • Tier 3 faction - No limits on Commercial.

To ensure that the additional are used for Roleplaying purposes and not monetary monopolization, the following rules are implemented.

    • Faction Leaders must pay the full market value amount for additional properties.
    • You are not able to sell / change ownership / sublease Faction Properties.
    • If the Faction is inactive, closed, or reprimanded, all faction properties will be sold back to the server. The Faction Leader does not receive the Market Value upon the sale of the property.
    • You are not able to use commercial properties for residential purposes, and vice versa.

DISCLAIMER: The Faction Leader is responsible to ensure that additional properties are being used to serve a purpose and are adhering to all of LC-RP's Property Rules.

    Concluding Remarks

There is a lot that goes on behind the scenes that our player base is unable to see. The Property Team works hard to finish tasks that benefit the Server, and Property Team Management is working tirelessly to ensure that we can provide our players with the best experience possible. Last month marked one year since I've joined this project, and tomorrow marks 9 months of being the Team Leader of the Property Team. I love what I do and I'm here for the long haul. The Property Team will continue to work hard to deliver a working and realistic system, and will improve upon that system once the server is released. That is our promise to you. Oh, if you haven't already, please join the Property Discord!

Although a lengthy read, I hope you enjoyed reading about our continued developments and great strides towards the Property side of things, and I also hope that your excitement for LC-RP is as great as mine!

     Until next time!

  15. The Aviation Industry / Business is something that's been talked about when I first joined the Property Team.

You are right, you are severely restricted to the types of Roleplay that you can do on Liberty City as you could on Los Santos. However, consider the fact that geographically speaking, LC and LS are on polar opposites of the country. So, transportation from one map to another even if possible, is very unrealistic.

We have not rejected the idea of Players applying for Businesses at the airport. Of course, the entire airport can't be owned, but an office building and a hangar would accompany a tourist / high class transportation (as @Crunchy said) very well.

There is nothing stopping this idea, the only thing standing in your way is an Application as far as I am concerned.

  16. As @Midsomer said, nightclubs and bars are the RP Servers backbone when it comes to Business. @Neo and I were so happy when we knew that we could "be the change we wanted to see".

By having only two nightclubs for launch, we're forcing the expansion of other industries. Some of my favorite roleplay was owning a Cinema in GTA W. Not just a regular cinema, one that only showed old movies (Film Noir, Westerns, etc). Although it kind of matched Los Santos' theme, it would really match LC's. Let's remember, NYC is a tourist-filled area; people come for the broadway shows, concerts, and more. I think establishing "celebrity" figures and even your regular 'acting crew' to bring theatrical performances into LC would be a dream. If a Cinema script is created, I myself would apply for a business and replicate the Film Noir Cinema I once owned in World.

Another idea which I think is criminally underrated is stand up comedy. I think some players could really steal the show, and creating the small, hole-in-the-wall businesses that are jammed packed with people to see a comedian IC would be super cool.

Neo and I dreamed of a Property Market that is not driven by nightclubs and bars, and we'll do everything we can to make that happen in LC, even if it means going through some unscripted roleplay, the possibilities are endless once the server is released and the Devs can allot time on certain features to make the game better.

    Felonies

Everything that's not Rape, sexual harassment, necrophilia and cannibalism can remain IC. The two parties should agree if one party is drugging another with the intent to rape her, but committing the rape is what needs permission, not the preliminary steps to get to rape (eg: Drugging someone). In terms of other felonies, I think a strong connection between VU and Admins is crucial. Obviously, if you find out someone has a felony drug charge, you can just remove that person, as opposed to setting a standard and punishing them for exploring different paths in their characters.

    School Shootings

I think the cons that this RP brings severely outweigh the pros. Poor RP from school shootings can break immersion and upset players, and I can forecast some of our "less serious" players using the school like a Nuketown lobby because they know it's populated. I say no, and make it fall under a 'Crime Free Zone'.

    Portrayal

I think limiting one's character to a very pleasant and fruitful upbringing could potentially put a lot of great roleplay to halt. Although we are wanting to emulate IRL, I think allowing people from all walks of life to attend VU would be stellar. I would personally hate to make a character with absolutely rich parents just so I can roleplay a student. On that, if somehow another University comes to LCRP, then that topic can be rediscussed. But for now, my vote is on keeping it as a regular Uni.

    Inter-faction roleplay.

Another big iffy one. Some people set their character to 28 and they stay at 28 indefinitely. If players are forced to go to VU to take a degree that is complimentary to their job then they might just rush through VU, caring less about the roleplay and more about getting the prerequisites to do what they actually want to do. I think having degrees IC is a great idea, but maybe companies can look at that person in a better light as opposed to making it a necessary requirement to move up payment tiers.

    Grades + Qualifications

ULSA from GTA:World has shown me that people could care less about what they take. I'd say maybe 10% of the players attending the classes IC are there to facilitate roleplay to exceed their personal agenda. I don't think VU should have a grading system. If I took Engineering class and I was failing due to IRL obligations, I'd be outright pissed irl as I look to my Engineering degree beside me. I think VU should be lecture based, but have a more interactive touch to it.

Although University Roleplay is definitely not my thing, it will go far, especially with Neo running the show. Good luck.

  18. I am in total agreeance that gambling should not be controlled / mandated by Admins. If you've got two deck of cards, you can get a poker game going anywhere.

I would also personally like people betting items of value instead of just money. Say you've got a $10,000 watch that you want to bet your life away on. I think that should be scripted in the near future, would bring an abundance of unique roleplaying opportunities.
