Never met such friendly people despite the weather. Not you Toronto/Quebec.

I'm an Alberta boy myself, Engineer for an Oil and Gas Company, wouldn't ya know! Grew up and live in Calgary, which is considered the cleanest city in the world!

  2. The main differences are what's offered in game. Since LSRP came out, there has been substantial steps in client / server / personal side game modifications. These are visual modifications for the most part. The server can implement modifications as well. Well, the biggest example being Liberty City in a Los Santos based game!

When I first set foot in Canada it was February and it was absolutely freezing, and I've been at the Arctic warfare training up in the north of Scandinavia just to contextualize how cold it gets.

Second weather I experienced in Canada was in the summertime where it reached upwards to 88F (32C). You have some serious weather to endure in both seasons.

We make the best out of it! Lawnmower and Snow Shovels stay right next to each other, you'll never know when it's time for a switch!

  4. Meh, I've got nothing to do, let's break these down, one by one.

What you have not seen on rp, and would like to see and/or should be?

One thing I have not seen on RP Servers often are Private Detectives. I for one think it'd be great to RP an ex-cop who's still holding onto his pride, and just wants to catch wanted perps.

What does it mean to be good Roleplayer?

A good RP'er knows their character quite well, they read and understand what defines their character. A good Roleplayer will read other people's replies / rp, and read it over again. RP is about responding to what's going on around you, if you're not carefully reading the replies of other players, then you're not contributing anything to the RP Itself. A final trait a good Roleplayer exercises is allowing their character to experience negative emotions, and Roleplays them accordingly. Although RP is an escape from real life, no one should bring their real life misery into your RP / Character. And also, HAVE FUN, why are you RP'ing if you're not having fun?!

What is your attitude to the weak/poor Roleplayers?

The best Roleplayers in the world are far from perfect, there are things that everyone can improve upon. I've been Roleplaying across several servers and platforms for the past 10 years, and shit, I can even improve on my RP. If weak / poor Roleplayers are willing to put in the work to make their Roleplay better, and have fun doing it, then that just encapsulates the vision that LCRP is presenting to the public. A New Era of Roleplay, where everyone is here to have fun, learn, and enjoy their time playing in the big apple!

    The biggest absurdities on rp?

This is a very vague question, and I know you didn't mean to ask it this way. It all depends on the situation, there is a plethora of things characters do when they shouldn't be doing it. Alas, I wouldn't consider it an absurdity. For serious Roleplayers, trollish behavior is considered shocking, but far from absurd, I don't think people take it too much into heart.

What would you change/add/remove on roleplay and why? mention the advantages/disadvantages of the game/script/s/rules/regulations etc  Your perfect roleplay server?

Allow me to put it this way. LCRP is a Business, oRe is the Business owner, and I am a customer. As a Roleplayer, I make do with what I have presented to me. If I feel for areas of improvement, I'd suggest them. LCRP is quite literally the utopia of Roleplayer Servers, these guys know how to do it right. As a Customer (Roleplayer), you shouldn't come into the game and demand that every script, command, and item is fit to exceed your personal agenda. It's a lot more fun to make do with what you have, it opens the doors to a lot of RP!

How important the economy should be on roleplay, why?

Since RP is practically a second world within Rage Multiplayer, I think the IG Economy should act as it does in real life. A constant booming economy allows for Roleplay to sustain and die out, where, the most fun I've had in my RP is when the economy is twisted and bouncing up and down! Economy is an integral part of the server, but like in real life, the economy doesn't always act the way you want it to!

What, if if the pk term was removed and replaced with the BW itself and the CK applications?

I am unsure of what a BW is. There are pros and cons with Player Kills. The pros are it allows your character to portray themselves to a sense where you'll lose your items and your memory, but can still enjoy time spent on that player. For myself, I usually tend to grow attached to my characters, and if they were CK'ed in every single altercation, it would seriously hurt my motivation to continue playing!

What if there were fewer restrictions and more freedom?

LCRP is just that. LCRP maximizes Character / Player freedom while still enforcing rules where a solid and happy community can be maintained. With freedom comes problems, with no freedom comes more problems. I believe LCRP is much more relaxed on their rules than other servers, but still has rules pertaining to certain aspects of the game.

Why is there so much bureaucracy on rp?

As said, this game is emulating real life. Why is there Bureaucracy in real life? Well, we need it for one. And two, it opens up Roleplaying options!

What do you think about limits, e.g. For robbery?

I am a strong supporter of this. The main prevention is those who just rob for the monetary gain, and not the Roleplay. Setting a limit will create RP instead of minute transactions in quick succession. If there was no limits, everyone would become a robber and rob everyone in sight, thus, creating an unrealistic setting.

Why the A player cannot kill the B player  after robbery?

Not sure where you found this..

What do you think about, for example, hunger system?

Of all the things your character gets up to, I am on the fence about the Hunger System. Grocery Stores would have to be mapped, made, modded, and implemented, which I could see several issues going wrong with that. People can go days without food, so why can't you character? I think it's not really a good idea for LCRP, in my opinion!

Where does the fashion for taking screenshots come from and why is it popular, maybe we should move away from it?

For those who develop their character through the progress of Roleplaying on them, screenshots is a way to showcase what the character is up to on the Forums. Although these screenshots can't be metagamed, lots of players have more fun making the screenshots than they do Roleplaying (Myself included). Screenshots open up another avenue for the community showcase, and allows players to demonstrate their work and talent, even when RageMP is closed.

    Where disappeared fun?

    ?

Why many things are exaggerated on rp, what are these things?

Not much tbh, we are creating a real-world community, so we try not to exaggerate.

Roleplay is a heavy and debatable topic, and everyone has their own idea about it and interprets it in their own way - do you agree with this statement? Why is it like that?

Definitely. My peers think Roleplaying is cringe, they think it's what 'nerds' do. To me, Roleplaying is a way where I can live in another persons shoes, and decide what that person does. Roleplaying is a great escape into a world of your own. There doesn't need to be anything bad happening (most of the time), you choose what your character does, and how they interact with people. For example, some of the most socially awkward people are the best Roleplayers, and Roleplay outgoing people! This oftentimes has a Psychological impact which, in turn, can help them Out of Character.

Do you agree with it? How would you say it with your words?

I definitely agree with it. If I was wanting to play GTA V and not wanting to portray a character realistically, I'd slide over to GTA Online and deck out my character in absurd clothing and kill people in a Buzzard. Here, we use the Map to create a little virtual world for everyone. Realism is super fun it you get into it, and it makes for some great Roleplay. If my Immersion was repeatedly broken due to Trollish or Poorly Portrayed characters, I myself would find another community to play on.

Is realism a determinant here? Yeah, it's a little comic, but....             generally it is a lack of role play, consequence, wounds etc.

That is a great question, I'll paste the Realism subsection located in the Environment Consistency Policy. The short answer is yes 😉

    Policy on realism and immersion

Realism is a prominent aspect of our community. However, due to game mechanics and other issues, re-creating the real world is not completely possible. For instance, our legal factions are based on their real-life counterparts (The FDLC is replacing the FDNY, the LCPD is replacing the NYPD, etc.) however factions are constructed in a manner that allows them to have their own individuality. Whilst key culture from their real-life counterparts is adopted, factions are evolving and creating their own culture based on in-character events that also shape the socio-economic and political environment.

Players must portray realistic characters, meaning properly roleplaying emotions.

  7. Hey there, Sons.

When you are Roleplaying, you are the puppeteer in control of the character, your puppet. OK, maybe that wasn't the perfect example, but I digress.

When you are playing a character, you are playing that character whilst exercising as most realism (things you would do in real life) as possible. Many players oftentimes set their characters on a schedule, quite similar to how you or your peers might live their lives. Immersion is the Players' mind and the Character's mind becoming one mind. When your immersion is broken is when something happens that is unrealistic. For example, if I were to collide with you head on, and GTA V's physics did not kill me upon the impact, and I come out to you and ask if you're OK? That breaks your immersion, because there's no way that can happen in real life! It taints the Roleplay, makes it feel like the game is in a comical Video Game setting and not "real life".

To make a long story short, anything that is unrealistic and results in you and your character believing that's unrealistic or Powergaming, that breaks your immersion in your Roleplay.

  8. Very similar to what Ras said, I'll say my piece based on my beliefs.

This is a Roleplay server, yes. Lot's of people take it seriously, they're here to have fun while playing someone entirely (or not entirely) different from them. Roleplay provides a sense of escape for some people, and subjects people to a different lifestyle in a game sense. These RP'ers portray their character to the best of their ability, putting timeless effort into his or her RP Style is. A 'Troll' is someone who comes into the game / scene with no intention to Roleplay, but to cause unneeded disturbances. Finding the line between Poor Portrayal and Trolling is a hard line to walk indeed, but Poor Portrayal and Trolling go hand in hand more than you might think.

I'll give you an example, say a person creates a white supremacist character, and does nothing else but go in public places and shouts racist remarks. If the player didn't do anything else to develop their character upon creation, and is just creating unneeded Roleplay for the fun of it, that's both Poor Portrayal and Trolling, to a tee.  Another example is if I were to create a character with a comical and unrealistic name ('Phuck You'). Clearly, this is trolling, and is not tolerated on the Server as per the Server Rules.

Poor Portrayal characters oftentimes will correct themselves if their poor behavior is brought up to the Administrators attention. Trolls are indifferent about correcting their Roleplay, I hope this helps!

  9. Game Launching into Singleplayer after RageMP Update.

Hello again, it's your friendly neighborhood Geo, here to help you out with getting into LC-RP after the new RageMP Update on July 20th, 2021.

There are multiple fixes across the three platform engines you can launch your game on, I'll go through the three that I know.

    Steam

    Spoiler

    - Open your command prompt, this can be done by typing 'cmd' in your search bar.

    - Type the following below. Alternatively, you can copy/paste it over
    taskkill /f /im Steam.exe

    Fix 2
    - Open your command prompt, this can be done by typing 'cmd' in your search bar.

    - Type Tasklist and press Enter
    - As your task list loads, look for programs related to GTA W / Steam / GTA 5. Once you have done so, note the exact spelling, and include the .exe at the end.
For example, if I was wanting to end GTA 5, I'd type taskkill /f /im GTA5.exe. You can follow the taskkill /f /im ____.exe format for any of those tasks.

    Fix 3

    - Restart your computer, this is the fastest way to reset all of your tasks, as Steam won't start without your permission upon opening your game.

    Rockstar Games Launcher

    Spoiler

Let's remember that Rockstar Games Launcher patches are delayed by 80 minutes on most computers. You might need to wait for an hour or two before trying again.

    Fix 1
    - Open Rockstar Games Launcher
    - Go into your Task Manager
    - Look for a Task called Rockstar Launcher Patcher. End this task, then end Rockstar Games Launcher afterwards.
    - Try launching LC-RP.

    ~~* IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING MENYOO / SCRIPTHOOK*~~
    Spoiler

With the new update, ScripthookV will need to be updated in order to work. You MUST reallocate / delete your files. The files you need to take out of your Grand Theft Auto V Directory are as follows.

    - NativeTrainer.asi

    - asiloader.log

    - installscript.vdf

    - Menyoo.asi

    - menyooLog.txt

    - openCameraV.asi

    - openCameraV.log
    - OpenIV.asi
    - ScriptHookV.dll
    - ScriptHookV.log

As far as Epic Games Launcher goes, updates are mandated and will not be released until the game is working across all platforms. You'll have to wait it out until Epic Games releases the proper patches to run the game correctly on RageMP.

Most users will experience these issues with Steam only, if the above doesn't work, consider reinstalling RageMP and or GTA 5.

  10. Syntax Errors while playing LCRP!

Hello everyone, I hope you are well.

As Updates are being pushed out, there are always Syntax Errors that Game Developers might miss or forget! Fortunately, these are easy to rectify, and only takes 5-10 minutes of your time, let's run it!

Scenario One - Just Pressing OK.
    3B02Nve.png

To help us understand the issue, let's understand what's happening. Take this new update in the GTA World Community, the developers have placed a dynamic blood trail when you are injured. Your RageMP Window would have to update the server resources in order for this to be done correctly. If there were any errors, your might see a message like this. If you press 'OK' and you continue to play normally, then it's a one-off issue. Moreover, if this issue persists consistently, please follow the steps below.

Scenario Two - Updating your Server-Resources Folder.
If this Error message is persistent during gameplay, it might be a good idea to manually delete your server resources folder and let RageMP Download the correct ones from the LCRP Server database. Here is how you can do this.

    1) Make sure you have RageMP and any associated Applications closed.
    2) Type 'updater.exe' (without the quotes) in your search bar. Press Open File Location
    3) Once you are in your RageMP Directory, navigate to 'Client_Resources'.

    4) You will see a folder with a lot of numbers / lettersDelete this folder

    5) Open RageMP as you normally would.

As LC-RP is loading, the server resources will begin to download again. Note, this may take 5-10 minutes depending on your internet speed.

If the issue persists, ensure the following:
    A) RageMP Is NOT located in Program Files x86

    B) Make sure your visual_settings.dat file does not contain any Japanese Characters
    C) Make sure your Antivirus Software allows metered third party connections.

    Your friend,
    Geo

  11. Hello everyone, I hope you are well. I've had a few players come to me with this error. Sadly, I do not know a hard set fix, as there are too many to count. Thus, I shall provide some methods to finding out what works for you, and hopefully get you back in game. Let's go!

    Screenshot_2021-06-12_224143.png

    Before you try...

Before you go running around and downloading viruses on your computer, try the following:

** - Ensure your graphics drivers are up to date **
    - Verify GTA V Files.
    - Delete all Visual Mods
    - Make sure to Restart Steam / Epic Games Launcher / Rockstar Games Launcher
    - Make sure RageMP and GTAV are not downloaded on ProgramFiles x86

Potential Fix 1 - Updating (Easy)

    Spoiler

If you are using Windows 10, this is extraordinarily easy!

    1) In your search bar, type 'Check for Updates'. Press Enter.
    2) Your Windows Settings will open, and will let you know if you need to Update.
    3) There are some optional updates out there as well, think of it as a System32 Recovery, always Update your computer with Optional Updates!
    4) Once your computer is restarted, and the updates conclude, Open RageMP!

Potential Fix 2 - DirectX Diagnostic tool and Command Prompt Scans! (Medium)

    Spoiler

This method is for the tech-savvy users. If you are not comfortable using command prompt and DirectX Diagnostic, please refrain from following the next steps.

    DirectX Version (File specific)

    1) Open your search bar
    2) Type 'dxdiag' (without the ''), and press enter.
    3) Your DirectX will auto-configure, and beginning running scans on its own. The System header is what you're concerned about.
    4) Any Error Messages and issues will open up in another window. Make sure to 'Save All Information' for future reference.

    System

    1) Open your search bar.
    2) Type 'cmd' and make sure to run as the administrator!
    3) Once Command Prompt opens, type 'sfc /scannow' (without the '').
    4) This process will take some time, but is a sure fire way to determine of any System File Corruption!

Potential Fix 3 - File Diving (Hard)

    Spoiler

This is a more difficult method of determining file corruption, as you're working in dangerous territory (System32). If you are comfortable and not inclined to press the Delete Key, cite below!

    1) Open File Explorer.
    2) Navigate to C:/ -> Windows -> System32.
    3) In the onslaught of files, locate a file called d3d11.dll. [This is the Dynamic Link Library file for DirectX. It is imperitive to have this file if you want your game to run.]
    4) Right Click the file, and open Properties.
    5) Tab over to 'Digital Signatures'.

If you have two Digital Signatures, your file is broken with two accounts. If you have zero, your file is corrupted. See 'Bottom Line?' for more information.

    Bottom Line?

    Spoiler

If your d3d11.dll file is broken, DO NOT attempt to download it from a Third Party Website.

Put simply, .dll files do not work that way, especially system .dll files. They are system specific, and will have to be worked around more cautiously. As I have yet to successfully modify my computer to get this error, here are some things you can try.

    - Restore d3d11.dll from the Recycle Bin if you might have deleted it!
Install the latest version of Microsoft DirectX
    - Update drivers!

IF ALL ELSE FAILS? Consider a fresh reinstall of Windows, that is the only sure-fire fix I know, but is a hassle!

I think this shouldn't be scripted because it is literally a rp job that's to be done if there's need for it. Additionally, PIs don't really enforce any laws... They're pretty much same as every other citizen (with very few, not so important, benefits depending on the state in which they work). PIs are hired privately to work on finding someone, do some investigative work for larger companies when they're about to make contracts with other companies, watch on someone's husband or wife if their partner believes they're cheating on them so they hire a PI to look into it, etc. tl:dr IMO there's no need, nor possibility (as in to keep it real), to have it scripted

    4 hours ago, Cappunocci said:

This exactly. Who would anyone even remotely consider scripting a job that has been roleplayed across several servers for years.

I glanced over 'scripted', I too agree it shouldn't be scripted, but still easily offered in game to those who are interested!

  13. Hey there, LCRP! It's Geo, your local RageMP Master!

Have you been playing on Windows  7 and are noticing some crashes? Look no further, the fix is here!

    1) Right click your Epic Games Launcher and press 'Open File Location'. You do not want to go in your Shortcut version, it should take you to a path similar to this "C:\Program Files\Epic Games\Launcher\Portal\Binaries\Win64\EpicGamesLauncher.exe" Afterwards, look for any arguments in the folder. Most arguments are a .dll file titles "http=winnet" OR "EpicGamesLauncher.exe.old.ver". Remove any files that look like this.

    zuzHmHl.png

    2) Verify your game files if you haven't already. Some mod packs will deny entry to ragemp_ui.exe
    20r3uDT.png

    3) Seeing as you're not on Windows 10. Make sure you head into your Epic Games Launcher properties -> go over to 'Compatability', and make sure that the Compatability mode is selected for your Computer's operating system.

    gWvT1dS.png

    4) While you're in properties, make sure to slide on over to 'Security', and ensure that you have all permissions set for your user.

    j7pBoWA.png

    5) If all of this does not work, you can see if your game is corrupted, I will post below how to find out.
    a) Press your Search bar on the Bottom left of your computer screen
    b) Type in %appdata% (yes, with the Percentage Symbols!)
    c) It will default you in AppData->Roaming, we want to back out a folder to AppData
    d) From there, go into Local->Rockstar Games-> Launcher
    e) Locate the 'settings_user.dat' file, and open it with notepad.
    f) If you look in the file and see a bunch of characters and symbols, then your game is fine. If you see Japanese Characters, then it's an indicator that your game might be corrupted

Here is what a healthy .dat file looks like.
    lbhOFEm.png

    I hope this helps!
    Your friend,

    Geo

  14. Job Title: Private Investigator

Job Description: We see it all the times in movies. An ex cop unable to depart from his passion. A private investigator acts similar to a police officer, but enforces the law on a set individual or small group as opposed to the general public at all times. P.I's would be an excellent addition to the server, as gang activity can call for a PI to investigate from a distance!
