Caporegime Posted March 14 Content Count: 21 Reputation: 50 Joined: 11/24/2021 Share Posted March 14 Either both sides get it or none should get it. You trust all the players or none at all. I personally want to roleplay on a text based server and not one that's trying to do both text and voip; regardless of the reasoning. Teamspeak isn't "required" for any aspects of text based roleplay. As someone previously stated those in charge are promoting a "new era of roleplay", so attempt to be "new" by changing up the formula.
cerberus Posted March 14 Content Count: 214 Reputation: 104 Joined: 04/02/2022 Share Posted March 14 TeamSpeak represents the use of the "Walkie Talkie". Cops are in several frequencies that can range from Citywide (CW) up to specialized and encrypted (AES-256 (P25)) channels. All cops have radios on them in order to enhance the communication. So the question is; Do all civilians have walkie talkies? I think no. So why should all civilians get access to VOIP? (My second genuine question) I can assure you that people who will be found to be metagaming will be punished accordingly. Everyone is treated the same. On a final note, TeamSpeak at least Police's side, I don't know about the rest, will be monitored and several use-guidelines will be established in order to maintain a healthy environment. 1 1 Quote LIBERTY CITY ROLEPLAY Retired Server Administrator

If that's the case I have a different idea: EITHER make 2 team speak servers 1 for Government Officials such as officers Fire Fighters Correctional Officers FBI agents and 1 for civilians which will be heavily regulated OR to the current team speak add civilian channels that none government officials can access but CANNOT move to government one

Good point. I withdraw my previous idea and say Team Speak for government employees ONLY honestly VOIP in this kind of server might ruin it in my opinion. kristofer Posted March 14 Content Count: 30 Reputation: 11 Joined: 09/09/2021 Share Posted March 14 In game radio sounds neat and is more immersive than TS where people 90% of the time use it for OOC reasons

They have phones. Bad example. I don't see how it's going to make RP worse if there's no VOIP for cops. 1 Quote The Vodyanov Crime Ring

That would require 3000 slots. Quote LIBERTY CITY ROLEPLAY Retired Server Administrator
Kaos Posted March 14 Content Count: 20 Reputation: 24 Joined: 03/18/2021 Share Posted March 14 How do you expect cops to update or provide info during a pursuit if they don’t have VOIP/TS? It’s damn near impossible to type and drive at high speeds chasing someone through LC lol. It should only be used during pursuits after all, everything else can be handled and talked about via text.
