Earlier today, Detective 1st Grade Enrique Garcia announced that 43-years-old Jeff Simmons committed suicide in police custody during the afternoon. According to confidential sources, Simmons was a prime suspect in the murders of Republicans Eric Chan and Jonathan Cunning, which was later confirmed by Garcia.

It is known the suspect managed to produce a gun shot to his head. Reporters witnessed firearms and ballistic experts on the scene, indicating there was a firearms discharge inside the precinct. It is currently unknown how a suspect in police custody was able to obtain a firearm and produce a gun shot.

The incident occurred just a day after Brian Turner announced his formal resignation from the LCPD and it is a clear indication that the department is in disarray.

FIB agents were seen entering the precinct shortly after Weazel 5 reporters arrived on scene.

The FBI Liberty City Office released the following statement:

"The FIB is deeply concerned by the lack of transparency and evidence disclosure on behalf of the LCPD. The field office in Liberty City was not informed of the identification of the suspect, nor was any evidence connecting him to the murders, shared with federal authorities."

Internal Affairs Bureau released the following statement:

"The LCPD"s IAB is investigating the incident that occurred on the 2nd of December, 2022, inside the 116th precinct. Preliminary investigation indicates a firearms discharge had occurred, resulting in the death of a 43-years-old male. No further information can be shared at the moment."

Mayor Lockhart released the following statement:

"It is very troubling to see what happened today. I sincerely hope no officer was injured in this terrible incident. The city government is prepared to assist. Political persecution must come to an end. I hope the motives of the killer are disclosed to the public."

Former Chief Brian Turner tweeted:

"What happened today screams incompetency. Both Lockhart and Wright must be held responsible."
