Why did "Beachgate" become relevant? The new theory is making traction across social media and mainstream media as theorists believe that important institutions in Liberty City have been infiltrated by organized crime. Supporters further claim that public officials are connected to various illicit activities such as human, drugs, weapons trafficking and suppression of law enforcement. Public trust in law enforcement takes a toll Following Mayor Lockhart's condemnation of the Liberty City Police Department's efficiency to combat crime, public trust in law enforcement has been affected negatively.
