  1. I think everyone here has provided good arguments. Perhaps we can look into exploring the idea for a week or two, see how it turns out and then make a final decision. But let's keep this discussion active.
  2. I don't think it is a priority for us to create alarms for properties pre-launch as we need to meet a specific deadline. However, I can assure you that a sophisticated system for this will be worked on once we launch.
  3. Hey. Thanks for bringing that up. When it comes to adding custom mods (in this case vehicles with special lighting) that ends up increasing the server assets that you need to download. An argument can be made that it's not going to increase the assets by a lot, however, I can bring a counter argument and say that security companies will start popping up very frequently if they know they can just get special mods. So, what will end up happening is tremendous strain on all community members, as they will have to download those assets every single time. Not feasible. LCRP has no problem including custom mods for factions which have proven to be loyal to the community and are proven to create decent RP. I'm afraid we can't just install mods for every security company that pops up for the reasons I specified above. However, our faction tier system will eventually allow a faction to request mods to be added in-game. The issue with security companies, historically, was that the portrayal was quite bad and they ended up being called 'PD rejects'. I think anyone who is serious about such concept must really change what security RP is. Hope that helps.

  6. STAFF SURVEY #JUL22 Hello, everyone! When we first created the project, we announced that transparency is one of our long-term goals. Transparency is connected to our various staff teams and as Management, it is our responsibility to observe how efficient our staff members are. Efficiency is often times connected to morale. For this purpose, we have decided to push out staff surveys every 2 months in order to track morale and see if there are any issues that require Management's involvement. Furthermore, this also helps us receive feedback about our managerial approach and whether we need to improve. We have decided to make our staff survey results public, in order to reassure the community that our staff teams are happy with the project and how it is being managed. This is an outstanding result and it showcases that Management is maintaining a healthy communication with the staff team. Professional communication is one of goals that Management had set up when creating the project, hence it is of utmost pleasure to observe that our goal has been achieved so far. This particular question is relevant as it showcases that staff trust Management for executive decisions. We are happy to see our efforts appreciated as there is a heavy load of work concerning community affairs. Much of managerial duties are conducted behind the scenes, hence it is pleasing to see that we have been on the right track so far. We plan to maintain this level of trust in the future. As most of you might now, we have very strict internal staff regulations and we are extremely selective as to who is allowed the responsibility to lead a staff team. Data so far indicates we have made the right decisions relating to team leaders. It is important that team leaders are operating professionally as their actions directly influence staff more and thus their efficiency. Management applauds the current TLs and hopes to see even better results in the future. Maintaining professional and healthy relations within our staff teams is imperative for Management. A divided house is bound to create issues and we must avoid that at all cost. It's important to take into account the 5 respondents who were "somewhat satisfied". We have already taken action and spoken with the TLs to ensure their team members are abiding by our internal rules & regulations. We hope to improve staff relations even more in the future. This is a very important discovery and displays that both Management and the respective TLs have created clear instructions related to the staff team responsibilities. In order for our staff members to be fully efficient, they need to understand their responsibilities clearly. We are happy to report this has been the case so far.
  7. Thank you all for the input on this. I've had a conversation with the FST about it and we've decided that LCRP will not be using any turf maps whatsoever. 1. We find the concept to be very outdated. 2. I believe if such turf map is made official, it will constantly require changes and I don't plan on bothering any of our teams with this work as they already have a lot of things to do. 3. This should be an IC issue that should not be infringed upon by the staff team. I appreciate the initiative @ThatDutchPerson, and if you wish to pursue this further, you can do so as a regular player but this map will not be representing LCRP. I also think you will have to get involved in a lot of senseless drama over it, considering what such turf maps led to on other communities. Someone raised a good point saying that turf maps should be more of an OOC guide, however, I kind of disagree with that. I'd much rather players find this out ICly as opposed relying on some OOC entity for that information. I also think a big issue is that criminal factions (following tradition) always put their "turf" on their respective faction threads, but in my opinion, this is very wrong and should be changed. You can't open a faction and immediately claim X, Y, Z is your turf. No, you have to establish a control point and then you make such claims. Things are of course different prior to launch, but it's definitely something I want faction leaders to focus on. With that being said, I will keep this discussion open for another few days but we won't be implementing this.
  8. This is an interesting topic. This would be of course up to the LCPD but I will share my personal opinion. First, you need to define what your understanding of undercover officer is. This could very well be an unmarked unit on patrol, it could be an officer in civilian clothes on patrol, etc. It can also be an undercover police officer with false identity with the purpose of infiltrating a criminal organization. It could also be sting operations for prostitution, drugs, etc. I don't think it's wise to infiltrate irrelevant gangs or criminal organizations. If this is ever to be done, it has to be in relation to a very serious case file. Obviously there is limited info on how frequently the NYPD does that, however, it's safe to assume that the police relies on informants for the sake of officer safety and because it js more convenient as informants can usually give you info on multiple DTOs, OCGs, etc. The issue with other servers was that you couldn't really join 2 factions at the same time. We plan to change that here. Whilst it could create interesting RP, it is quite difficult to coordinate and execute such operations (from my experience) and usually leads to a lot of headache. I think if this is ever done by the LCPD, it should be a rare thing and not something that is done on a daily basis. You bring up a good point about people metagaming and finding out that a player is actually an officer. This is one of the issues I am talking about when it comes to the difficulty of executing such operations. Criminal factions must move away from this mindset and ignore their OOC findings for the sake of RP. Until that happens, it'd be almost impossible for us to conduct such operations. But as I said, you can easily do sting operations with undercover officers and this has happened quite a lot in the past because it's quite easy to do. @Tudounaozi can perhaps speak on this as the DB chief.

  10. So I completely agree with the author's argument against multiple spawns. However, we will only do this for a shot period of time after launch just to make it easier for players. We also don't want 300 people logging in and spawning at the same location on launch. That'd be cringe. But I overall agree with the comments as well.
  11. I am glad you notice this. A free, open market, in my opinion will strategically benefit LCRP. Business, in terms of overall concepts, are no different than factions. Both can be considered RP hubs that generate roleplay. Some argue that not everyone is fit to be a businessman. I can make the same argument and say that not everyone is fit to be a faction leader, yet historically, serious RP communities did not lock factions behind applications. What have we seen with factions in the past? The open market teaches people and alienates incompetent factions. Usually, the most competent and engaging factions become famous and move to the top. This happens as a result of competition. Sure, there is drama surrounding it, but it teaches people how to RP. A free market for businesses (free of OOC applications) because players are provided with an equal playing field. The best shall prevail, the bad shall fail.
  12. As we talked about this in one of our podcasts, we plan to introduce a system for factions based on tiers. This is something that can be revisited by the FST. Short answer is that you won't have to wait 3 years to get something included IG if you are a competent leader and your faction is active and abiding by the rules.

  16. It's a great initiative @El Presidente and promoting public transportation is an awesome idea. But I think advertising public transport is as far as we can go with this. Might not be in our strategic interest to limit people from buying vehicles or anything like that on launch. Maybe a few months down the line!

Community statistics Faction Support Team recruitment results Development progress & update Property Team changes Giveaways 1. Community statistics Woah, what a busy month it has been! Before we dive into the details of this community update, we are happy to announce that the month of June 2022 is now considered to be the most successful in the history of LCRP! 1. For the month of June, LCRP welcomed 300 additional discord members! 2. Our discord server has grown to record numbers and engagement has been extremely successful. 3. Our forum registrations continue to increase on a daily basis! 4. Our early supporters have been increasing rapidly and organizing IG sessions more frequently! 5. You guys have absolutely smashed our donation goal by 2310% 2. Faction Support Team recruitment results Please welcome the following community member into the Faction Support Team: @Copacetic @slick @MeowTheEpic @Goonbag @Karty @Barzini All Along The Faction Support Team will have some serious topics for discussion in relation to drug & weapon distribution, as well as the illegal roleplay rewards system. I personally hope this FST will be act in the server's best interest and will hopefully remain operational for a long period of time! 3. Development progress & update During this month, our development team has been working on significant improvements for our server. Whilst we can't disclose the details, we can state that major optimizations are being done to ensure the smooth launch of the server. Thanks to the massive amount of money that you donated, we will be able to further expand our development team and finish the remaining features as quickly as possible! We will continue to update you as we manage to hire new developers. We are also working on a very special project that hopefully you guys will enjoy. I will keep that a secret for now until is is ready to be showcased but we are all very excited about it! All we can say is to keep eyes on . In order to increase transparency regarding development, we will be opening a special discord channel for our early supports that will be used for direct liaison between them and our Development Team. If you are an early supporter, you may use this channel to forward questions to our developers! 4. Property Team changes Complete removal of housing and business leasing and purchase applications. This means you, the player, will not have to go through the property team in order to lease or purchase a property. We do this to allow a smooth transition for you in case you are coming from a different RP community. Eliminating the OOC bureaucracy and allowing you to obtain a property quickly is our priority. Removal of pre-launch property payments for factions. We have discontinued a policy which we initially implemented regarding properties. If you are a faction leader and you require a property, you will be able to apply for one prior to launch. You will not be required to repay for the property after launch. We want to encourage faction leaders to focus on IC endeavors as opposed worrying about repaying the property they have obtained pre-launch. Under the previous system, faction leaders had to make IC payments to "buy the property", whereas such will now be given for free! 5. Giveaways Giveaway 1: I would like to thank our members for their exceptional dedication and support towards our growing community. As of June 30th, we have a total of 1923 discord members & 1661 forum members.
