  1. Peak time has nothing to do with the literal time it'd be in-game, that'd be entirely reliant on OOC elements (player's timezone, their work schedule, etc). Onto the actual point - Honestly, my opinion has always been pretty consistent on the status of time in RP. Sure, we can debate over why it should cover Europeans, or Americans, or whatever. At the end of it all I consider the time (especially in an RP setting) almost irrelevant. It's one of those things that'll never be perfectly optimized given that we have to give up a little bit in order to truly enjoy the medium. On servers that run in EU time(s), I just dealt with it as an American player, can't say that it honestly affected me negatively or positively one way or another except for occasionally missing some certain events and not always linking up with certain people I wanted to RP with. It's just how it is. I can gloss over businesses opening at odd hours if it means that I still can log-on and enjoy the server, but that's just me. You could probably also make the justification that Liberty City would be similar to NYC in that, it's such a busy city that you can sort of find anything you'd need to at any given hour.
  2. Some stuff that doesn't have to be player operated and/or require a player manning them at all times , i.e. laundromat, gyms, libraries, etc. A lot of these types of businesses might be niche but it'd be neat to incorporate into your char's lives and would make for good spots for passive stuff to go on. And of course, tailors, since anyone that's wealthy enough to be rolling in NY/LC's high class sure as shit ain't wearing baggy clothes and gets that stuff taken care of by a professional.
  3. I like this idea. I know it's probably not good in the grand scheme of things, but I personally don't think literal character wealth plays an important role on RP, this of course is a personal feeling. I have characters on other servers with obscene amounts of wealth, but I could care less in terms of actual RP. Instead, I think the player should be entrusted to understand their concept well enough to somewhat keep it in mind what would be realistic for their character. A character with nothing in the bank? I don't think this is the end all, however, and of course there's gonna be people that don't and it's a difficult thing to combat against. But more generally, even if an absolutely perfect economy can't be represented? I think that it should be in a sense, an honor system to allow players to RP it as they feel - BUT, this is not to say that aiming for a reasonable economy should be discouraged. The idea of giving people the ability to use these tokens is super neat IMO. Giving people a bit of flexibility when starting a new character makes it all the more easy to get immersed and start getting creative with their RP. A shitty apartment in LC is probably gonna be a pretty common thing considering that not many characters (I imagine) will be super-wealthy. As such, having that first little 'stepping stone' (for lack of a better term) is always gonna be a nice little benefit. It definitely beats the somewhat weird thing where you might be RPing a local with past history and just... Don't have a place to have claimed living at. I do wanna say, until the server is entirely established and everything is sort of worked out, that there will be some leniency in terms of allowing for players to obtain businesses and buildings that might be relatively important to faction's RP. I'd simply like to see people not limited so long as the goal is to encourage RP, of course, trust in the admin team that this is all done within reason. Additionally, the idea of things being optional (like /charity) as opposed to forced allows people to get a bit more creative and essentially take their own route with each character.
  4. The idea of having a way for repeat offenders to face potentially worse punishments is key to everything IMO. Habitual criminals need to be facing these consequences or I believe it'll ultimately have the effect of trivializing the simple fact that people are in a sense, career criminals. IRL this has an effect on your trial, sentencing, etc - So I don't think it should be dismissed. Going to jail for more serious crimes should matter, they should affect the character. Being logged off should not have an effect on the literal time of imprisonment, non-negotiable IMO. Having a reduction in time for RPing in prison would in fact incentivize RPing there, it doesn't have to be dead/boring, and can lead to interesting development.
