  1. I used to watch the first 6 all the time when I was a kid. Never did get into the new ones though. Heard Rogue One was really good but only new one I saw was The Force Awakens and it disappointed me a bit tbh so I didn't keep up with them. People rag on the prequel trilogy (and, I mean, rightfully so) but I will say Phantom Menace has maybe the coolest soundtrack piece in the star wars (Duel of the Fates) and the chance to see Liam Neeson, Samuel L., and Christopher-fucking-Lee wield lightsabers was pretty rad.
  2. Now, I might be in the minority here, but while redux adds in some neat scenes, I really think the original release is the stronger film. I found a lot of the redux additions tonally inconsistent and detrimental to the build up towards the confrontation with Kurtz. But a lot of people think the exact opposite, and think the extra footage makes a richer story. You probably watched it on Netflix a couple years ago, I remember showing it to my brother around then and I didn’t realize it was redux until like 40 minutes in, I thought I was losing my mind lol.
  3. Now, let me ask you this, original or Redux?
  4. Collateral is good (Tom Cruise makes a great villain), but Heat is a must watch. Thief and Manhunter are great too, extremely 80s but I love ‘em. Can’t go wrong with MM.
  5. It wasn’t your opinion(s). It was what I can only describe as a “bizarre presence”, almost like a Levantine Mr. Ripley. Plus your forum posts aren’t up to snuff. Sorry for the unceremonious way in which you were booted though, next guy we’ll tie to a cannonball and make him walk the plank.
  6. I’ll have to give it another chance one of these days. I want to like it so bad because I love Leone + Morricone so much (the watch theme from A Few Dollars More is also my ringtone lol). You’ve got a lot of crime movies on your list there, you see any Michael Mann films? Because if not you should check them out.
  7. I have tried so hard to watch Once Upon a Time in America, AND Once Upon a Time in the West, and I just absolutely could not get into them. There’s great aspects of both of them but for whatever reason they didn’t click with me. I love the Dollars Trilogy though, I’ve got a poster in my room for A Few Dollars More. El Indio is such a great villain, Gian Maria Volonte was a huge boon to the first two movies for many things but most of all his stone-cold STARE. Dude had evil eyes.
  8. Cross of Iron always makes me sad because it showed Peckinpah's style continuing to develop but then of course he took a big long drive down the heroin highway.
  9. I used to prefer Goodfellas but Casino has surpassed it since in my mind, great movie. The central triangle of Ace, Nicky, and Ginger just works a lot better / is more compelling than Ray Liotta's coked up narration, though that's great in it's own way. Lester Diamond is also up there with Ike Clanton from Tombstone as one of the slimiest I-want-nothing-more-than-to-see-this-guy-get-the-shit-kicked-out-of-him movie characters I've seen.
  10. @Dohertybelongs here too, but a few favorite films of mine (very hard to narrow down) would definitely have to include: Down by Law - Jim Jarmusch Andrei Rublev - Andrei Tarkovsky Wages of Fear - Henri-Georges Clouzot La Haine - Matthieu Kassovitz Treasure of the Sierra Madre - John Huston I don't only watch black and white movies but I started the list with a couple and decided to just roll with it. Also Andrei Tarkovsky is awesome.
